This lesson taught me more about how to correct students. While I knew before the differences between mistakes and errors, this lesson provided me with deeper insight into how they are not one in the same and how to address both. When I teach it is often I am faced with the issue of how to correct the students. If it is a mistake I can allow students to self-correct or other students to help; but, if it is an error I now know it is my responsibility to find out why there is an error and corrected it. I can do this by having a small explanation in the study section of the lesson that addresses the error. This way it does not target a particular student but informs them of the error and why it is an error.
