This unit was useful in learning about the types of teaching equipment and teaching aids that are used in the classroom, as well as what the advantages and disadvantages are for said equipment. I learned that the board is an integral aspect of the classroom, whether it is used as it is with a whiteboard marker and the teacher's writing, an interactive whiteboard, or used as with an overhead projector. No matter what, it is essential that the teacher always write clearly and correctly so that the students can see/write notes on the material, and that the teacher has somewhat planned out what is to be written on the board so that there is sufficient space. For example, columns are sometimes drawn to separate grammar from vocabulary words. Additionally, the unit provided numerous resources for teaching English that will be of use when planning my own lessons.
