This unit was another especially useful one for me, and I appreciate that blank lesson planning sheets and a blank self-evaluation form were included. This unit covered lesson planning, beginning with why it is important. It is especially important for newer teachers to use a lesson plan, as they will have a harder time predicting issues and time spent on certain activities, and it will help them to structure their lesson and still be flexible without getting lost. The lesson plan should include the learner objectives and personal objectives of the teacher, as well as information on what activities will take place during each phase of the lesson, and how long they will take. It should also include anticipated difficulties for both students and teacher, and give likely solutions to these issues should they arise. Lastly, it is also important to keep track of how each lesson went so that it can be improved upon in the future. This is where the self-evaluation sheet comes into play.
