This unit was densely packed, offering teachers an overview of prominent pedagogical approaches, before breaking down in thorough and comprehensive detail the ESA framework. Not only is the framework itself a powerful teaching tool, its variations (Patchwork, Boomerang, etc.) and their uses were clearly demonstrated, while each stage was also further broken down and gone into in great detail. The best part about this unit, however, is perhaps the sheer number of concrete real-life approaches that were discussed for the teacher to use at all stages during their ESA lesson. The result is a powerful macro and micro understanding of how to work with students over a new concept.
