Just like the past and present tenses unit, this unit explains the different forms of the future tense. The future simple takes the form pronoun +will + verb, and is commonly confused with "be going to." The future continuous takes the form subject + will + be +verb +ing (present participle), and the idea that something will happen in the future based on a point can be confusing to students. The future perfect tense is formed: will + have + past participle, and is used to communicate something will have been done by a certain time in the future. The future perfect continuous is formed will + have + been + verb + ing, and is used to express how long something will have happened by a certain point. Different like the last units, we get this extra "going to" future, which is formed by taking the verb 'to be' in the present, plus going to, plus base form of verb. Finally, the present simple and present continuous can be used to express future intentions, which can also be confusing to students.
