This uniti talked about receptive skills and how to teach them. Reading and listening are equally as important and its important to try and keep these two aspects balanced in a lesson. There are particular things teachers should consider when teaching receptive skills. Teachers must engage the students and motivate them to participate by choosing interesting and varied topics, in patchwork or boomerang structures depending on the complexity. Choosing realistic tasks to work towards will boost student confidence and teach them skills for understanding.
