As an English as a Second Language Teacher one of the most relevant parts we teach are the Parts of Speech.
In order to guide the student in their learning of the language, it is very important that they are able to understand how to build a basic sentence and the most important components of it. The learner must understand the reason why they need to have in it a noun or subject that they are referring to, the action this subject is performing or what the noun "is", all this in order to be able to communicate a complete thought. Later on the need to be able to conjugate verbs properly according to the tense and the correct usage of all other parts of speech will ensure a complete learning experience for the learner.
This basic skills and correct usage of grammar will later translate in correct writing skill, proper grammar when speaking and the ability to understand correctly when reading texts.
