This unit was very illuminating because it directly applied what we have been learning and demonstrated two different teaching scenarios. The first one was quite uncomfortable to watch, as the teacher seemed confused and timid about the lesson he was about to give. There was no introduction, and the teacher did not sound confident in the instructions or the activities themselves. However in the second video, the teacher introduced himself, went through each students names, and was very encouraging throughout the video. The effect of this difference was seen in the quality and attitudes in the participation from the students. The teacher seemed genuinely interested in the answers the students gave in the second video, as he reacted accordingly and interestingly to their responses.
