Unit 11 covered testing and evaluation of a student who is interested in learning English as a foreign language. The information details the specific types of tests before placement into a class which are internal tests and determine levels a student is functioning at before beginning the class. This would allow for selection of levels and materials for students and help with placing in groups also. I particularly like the idea of evaluating the present activities in a current class which gives both the student and the teacher valuable information. what impressed me was the understanding that the "egos' of the class and teacher are not the most important focus but what is learned and what is taught.
