A more technical unit, this unit focuses on the English present tenses. There is the present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. Present simple is used mostly in describing routines or headlines. Present continuous is used to describe an action that is still happening (although not necessarily) or to connect an action around a point in time (among other uses). The present perfect (the trickiest for English learners according to the unit) connects the past with the present. Finally, the present perfect continuous also connects the past with the presents but has an added level of possible continuity that the present perfect omits. Each tense in the unit is followed by example activities to engage students with the tense (my favorite is the "guess my profession" activity for the present simple tense).
