From the unit I learned about teaching new vocabulary, grammatical structures and language functions. Along with criteria I can follow when selecting which vocabulary to introduce to students based on whether it is appropriate for their level, appropriate for the tasks planned and the frequency and coverage of the vocabulary. This includes the important points that students need to know about new vocabulary and grammatical structures when they are being taught in a lesson. And techniques that can be used in the different phases of an ‘ESA’ lesson plan to teach them. These can include role play, discussion, debate, gap-fill exercises etc.
