It appears to me that the Engage,Study,Activate method has emerged as a template from using other techniques and methods that came before it. It is specific in outline and therefore lends many options for the teacher and student alike. The main objective seems to be to have as much English spoken as possible by eliciting information, responses, conversation, etc from students, then focusing on new language, vocab, grammar, and finally having the students practice what they've been studying.
