I learned a number of things. I like how the unit defined good ways to organically engender good feelings into the students in order to get them to learn properly and the way they should instead of being forceful or overbearing (for example, finding ways to make them have something to say instead of just telling them to say something). I think it's best to find ways to naturally sprout these desires in the students and then watch them naturally want to speak or listen during the lesson. I like how this unit defined fluency vs accuracy and that you shouldn't have the same approach for both. There's value in getting the students to talk to help their fluency even though some mistakes are bound to be made in the process. The unit also emphasizes the importance of not just focusing on speaking because it's perhaps more likely to be used compared to writing or vice versa. Both are critical. Lastly, the solid examples of games was nice to have.
