In this unit I have learnt about the four present tenses: the present simple, present continuous (the present progressive) present perfect and present perfect continuous. I have learnt about how and under what circumstances the tense or grammar point is used. I have learnt about the several usages of these present tenses. I have also learnt that most non-action verbs are not normally used in the continuous forms, but they are used in the simple forms. Such verbs are, for example, to like, to love, to hate, to understand,to want, to believe, to hear, to own, to owe, to seem, to appear, to wish, to mean, to remember. I have learnt that each tense in English has four aspects: simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous.
