This unit gives an in action example of what to do and what not to do. In the first video it showed what not to do. The Teacher showed no personal interest in his students and used language above the students level of understanding so they were unable to engage in the beginning of the class. The teachers attitude in the first lesson was also intimidating and made the students reluctant to participate. In the second lesson the teacher is more effective and right away shows interest in his students. The teacher also uses language that the students can understand so they would be able to participate in the engage phase of the lesson. The overall attitude of the teacher has a much more positive effect on the class and helps the students to feel at ease and more willing to participate in the second lesson. From this lesson I've learned how the attitude of the teacher can effect the students ability to learn. It's important to speak clearly and to have a positive and engaging attitude for the best results.
