This unit has given a deeper knowledge and competence in breaking down the grammar of English. I feel as though I have learned a few tactics in identifying parts of speech according to the function of words in sentences. Furthermore, under each lexical category it has given a better understanding of what each part of speech is; for example verbs being transitive and intransitive in place of the layman explanation of being action words.It has also explained different concepts like countable and countable nouns which may have come naturally to english speakers. Overall, the content targets how to analyze and explain common areas in english grammar which will be quite useful in teaching.
