This lesson is the last of the grammar lessons in the course, focusing on modals, phrasal verbs and passive voice. Modal verbs express a variety of ideas including obligation, possibility and permission. Their uses and meanings vary substantially. The two voices in English are the passive and active voices. The passive voice is formed using verb to be and the past participle. Relative clauses are dependent clauses that modify nouns. These clauses can be defining or non-defining. Phrasal verbs have more than one word and can be intransitive, transitive separable, or transitive inseparable.
