This unit taught me the essential roles of both teachers and students within a classroom environment. It caused me to gain a deeper understanding for the great influences teachers have on their students. For example, the way the teacher models the language is closely observed by students, especially if those students are adults because they have a more fixed idea of how teaching should be executed. This unit also taught me the importance of captivating student's attention within the lessons, as a means to maintain motivation and encouragement. Younger learners who have shorter attention spans need the teacher to be a facilitator that provides the students with opportunities to participate in engaging activities.
