This unit focuses on equipment and teaching aids, including white/black boards, interactive whiteboards, overhead projectors, visual aids, worksheets and work cards, cassette recorders, CD players, videos and DVDs, video cameras, dictionaries, course books, resource books, photocopiers, computers, and online resources. One new thing that I learned is that some studies show that capitalised text is more difficult to read than lower case text, so unnecessary capitalisation for emphasis is discouraged. When using interactive whiteboards, it is important to take into consideration testing, a back up plan, the system location, training, and avoiding over-complicated lesson plans.
