While I consider myself to have a firm grasp of English grammar, I think this unit was a very beneficial refresher of the basics. Often, the aspects of a language considered "easy" or rudimentary by native speakers can prove the most challenging for learners of English as a foreign language. Additionally, these elementary concepts can be the hardest ones to teach, as we native speakers don't always remember their rules of usage or know how best to explain or convey them to students. For example, while the different verb forms such as present and past simple are quite obvious and important, I don't often think about categories like transitive and intransitive. I appreciated the section on these categories and the examples of transitive and intransitive verbs given. This unit reminds me to further consider all parts of speech.
