In Unit 7 we learned about how to teach vocabulary, grammatical structures in terms of language, and language functions. In particular, we learned the factors that play a role in how easy or difficult a vocabulary item is to learn. These include the similarity to both the students own language and to english words they already known, as well as spelling, pronunciation and the appropriateness of the term. The unit then expands on how to best teach these three language elements. Importantly, each one has slightly varied methods for the engage, study and activate phases. These will techniques will be important and useful!
