In this unit I learned the qualities of a good teacher, also the roles a teacher can assume while in a classroom, and how important is to balance and use everyone of those roles in the correct way and situation. This unit lesson also thought me about the differences between adult students and young students, and in the "young" students we also divided them in three types in accordance with their age. The age of the students has a crucial role in their motivation, learning awareness, ability to absorb the language naturally without comparison with their own mother language, behavior in class, and other important aspect of the learning process.
This unit also explained the difference on the language level of students, classifying it in accordance with their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, as well as ability to build complex structures and fluency. I think the unit 1 brought me some essential knowledge that will for sure be used in my future teaching work.
