This unit outlines aspects of a language, apart from grammar, must be taught for students to attain fluency in a language. These other aspects are vocabulary, language structures and language function. In the unit, the most important features of these aspects are highlighted and then sample lesson plans using ESA straight arrow, boomerang and patchwork structures. This was a good lesson to make my approach to language teaching more holistic.
