As a teacher in my personal view using variety of materials in class is very important. Why? because it makes the lesson more interesting and student's participate very well specially if the materials that you have in teaching are colorful and beautiful it actually set's everything. And for the course book I personally don't like it, because it does not suit to almost all of the learner. Yeah, it is tested by the department of education but they
don't know what is happening in the real classroom situation and this is the burden of the teacher. But teacher don't have choice but to follow. I can compare the learning like this to the horse who just follow the same path set by his master.
