This unit has taught me valuable class management skills. Some of the information was familiar, but studying the unit helped explain reasons for student behavior as well as reasons for some teachers failing to hold the attention of the class. I now know that very small things can make a huge difference in practice - a great example is mentioning the students name only after the question has been asked in order to maintain the attention of the whole class. I greatly enjoyed reading this unit and will look forward to using some of these methods whilst teaching.
