This unit went over basic concepts that one should be aware of when managing a classroom. This ranged from how to arrange the classroom to how to deal with problem behavior to giving students individual attention. I feel that I have learned the most from this section of the course. I have had teaching experiences but never with a classroom size audience. Therefore I was unsure how to go about managing the classroom dynamic. Specifically, I was concerned about juggling the ability to both maintain discipline in the classroom and to make students feel comfortable and enjoy coming to the classroom. The discussion on topics such as dealing with problem behavior and establishing a rapport with students gave me a better idea on how to tackle this issue. For example, encouraging student discussion and expression to build rapport.
