This unit discusses the different kinds of classes a teacher might encounter and how to approach each situation. A teacher may have classes full of children, young learners or adults and must cater each lesson plan according to the skill level and experience of the students. A class may also consist of students who speak the same native language, or students who come from different backgrounds and speak multiple native languages. There are advantages and disadvantages to both kinds of classrooms. Classes may be filled with students who are learning English for a job or business purposes, which requires the teacher to understand enough about their job position so they can teach the required skills.
