This unit presented the two productive skills of writing and speaking as well as the use of games in the classroom. Writing skills are often neglected in the classroom because the classroom favors speaking activities and it can be difficult to ensure that written homework is completed. There are fluency and accuracy activities for productive skills. Speaking and writing activities can range from controlled, to guided, to creative communication. Games and creative activities can motivate students and encourage them to overcome the barriers that keep them from speaking and writing. Many traditional games like tic-tac-toe can be adapted for teaching English.
