This unit discussed various types of course books and lesson materials. This included authentic materials, created materials, and course books. It then went on to explain what each of these materials were, examples of these materials, and the pros and cons of using. For example, authentic materials can give confidence to language learners whereas created materials can be graded to the level of students you are teaching. Looking back, I learned a lot from the course book section of the unit. I know that some schools require the use of textbook and while I agree they are helpful in many regards I worry about the class becoming bored. This gave me good ideas on how to tackle this by adding materials or changing certain lessons to make them more interesting for the class.
