I learned in this unit ways to make reading easier and more enjoyable for students. Although it is important for them to read authentic material, it can also be more difficult to read. By mixing inauthentic and authentic articles over many lessons, the students will strengthen their language skills and build more confidence with their receptive skills. Since it is more difficult to read and listen to authentic material, it is important to make sure that they find the material interesting and that you teach them any difficult vocab found in the material before they attempt to understand it. I think it is also important that students' understanding of the material is reinforced through comprehensive Activate activities, rather than checked via a quiz immediately.
