The thing I learned the most was the variety of external tests that students may have in mind and be preparing for. I also learned how I should articulate the manner in which I test the students. I know that placement tests and diagnostic tests are common, but I wasn't very aware of the variety of ways of assessing students or that at the end of the day, you're trying to test knowledge, not memorization, so the teacher should be cautious about how they go about their assessment techniques. It's not about ranking and failing.
