I think some things that I learned from this unit is the different roles that a teacher takes in the classroom. Within these different roles it is also important to consider the needs of the students, and the cultural barriers that may be encountered, especially as a ESL teacher. There is a necessary balance in considering how much to teach, and how much to allow students to experiment, and learn themselves through trial and error as well as practice. Another point within this lesson that is important to consider as a teacher is the language level of the student. Depending on the language level, lessons should be catered to students differently in order to allow for optimal engagement and growth for the student.
