This lesson covered course books and lesson materials, which I found myself considering about from the perspective of a student. When in class, the course book may have always appeared dull and structured, but I always enjoyed activities that the teacher separately created/directed. Those were often more engaging, and outside content material always made learning the lesson more fun. I believe teachers must learn to balance the structure of the course book so that students can learn in a controlled environment, while also keeping them engaged in the content with outside materials and activities. Without this balance, students may feel that the course is boring, or that the teacher is not putting in enough effort to understand the student's needs, and be creative with their own way of teaching.
