There are two main types of production skills. They are speaking and writing are used to communicate for a variety of reasons. Writing is considered to be the most difficult skill to aquire, as it takes a long time and must be done individually. This skill is usually the most neglected. Accuray and fluency are distinct concepts. Accuracy activities should be dedicated to producing correct language, while fluency is much more about using the language creatively and is less concerned with making mistakes. Accuracy activities are usually controlled, while fluency activites should be created by the teacher, but the students should have control over the output of language in these types of activites.
