This unit was primarily focused on using the tense present. Teaching the students the different between past, present, and future, is very important. For example, using the incorrect tense would create confusion to the student and the person they are talking with in trying to understand what they are trying to say. If the student is trying to tell me about their previous weekend, but they use the word "will", I would think they are talking about their upcoming weekend. Using positive and negative words are also equally important. If a student is describing something to me that they really like or enjoy, but they use the word don't, I now believe it is something they do not like. Understanding the difference between past, present, and future is equally important as using positive and negative words. Not knowing or understanding these simple forms would create a lot of confusion between the students and whoever they are trying to communicate with, which can be vital whenever it comes to their education.
