As I watched the two videos I found myself frustrated during the first one. It was obvious that the teacher did not care about his students and was just moving through the lesson without evaluating that his students understood what he was teaching. His lesson plan was unclear and unprepared, and his students were confused as to what direction the class was headed in. The teacher also lacked respect for his students, which was clear in how the class was intimidated and unwilling to participate. He also was degrading in his tone to speaking to his students, which only further discouraged their participation. However, in the second video, the teacher took the time to introduce himself and learn the names of his students. He also lead his students well in what direction the lesson was headed towards. The teacher was clear in explaining to students different grammatical structures through examples and reinforcement with student participation. The tone of a classroom, and the participation of students can be heavily influenced by the attitude of the teacher towards the students.
