This chapter covered different equipment, technologies, and teaching aids that may be in a classroom to enhance a student’s learning experience. In the most basic form, worksheets and work cards, and visual aids are useful in helping students visualize new information and absorb it. Most classrooms today have at least a basic chalk board or white board, and more and more classrooms now have interactive white boards (IWB) or smart boards. Less common in classrooms are cassettes, and DVD and CD players since most of them can be played on the computer that is connected to smart boards. Aside from course books and resource books, teachers have many other platforms and online resources they can utilize so that students can gain knowledge, and native speaking practice and listening skills. Drawing from other outlets besides course books are also helpful in giving students a more engaging and balanced learning experience.
