The make-up of the learning environment involves learners and teachers. Each one has its individual qualities and characteristics. A teachers should have certain qualities to be a good teacher: patience and kindness, a love of teaching, the ability to motivate. Learners should also have certain qualities to be a good learner: a desire to learn, unafraid to ask questions, willingness to experiment with the language, and others. The teacher plays different roles in the classroom depending on the circumstances of the lesson. Students have different levels of language knowledge based on past experience. Some may be beginners, some intermediate and some may be advanced. The teacher must adjust their level on instruction based on where the student is in their learning process.
