It's no wonder people say that English is very difficult to learn. The number of irregular verbs is intimidating. The subtleties of the different tenses could pose many stumbling blocks for the learner. European languages have many similarities to English in the manner of tense and sentence structure, but I can see where many Asian language speakers might get into trouble. It's easy for native English speakers to get lost, and even confused, when dissecting the language like this. We don't have to consciously think about the structure of our tenses as we speak.
