Unit 17 reviewed many of the teaching aids that can be used to help assist a teacher in their lessons. These teaching aids allow for etchers to make their lessons more interesting, effective and less dependent n a textbook. It is noted that all schools might require different lesson plans, or have access to different resources that are available to their teachers. It was noted that in the majority of ESL classrooms have access to: whiteboards/black boards, interactive whiteboards, overhead projectors, visual aids, worksheets and work cards, cassette recorders, CD players, Videos and DVDs, video cameras, dictionaries, course books, resource books, photocopiers, computers, and online resources. The lesson made it clear that there is a time and place for each option that is available, and mixing it up allows for students to remain attentive, and not get bored.
