This final unit of my TEFL course was all about trouble shooting. Obviously, I hope to not encounter any problems in my class, but with this unit I now have a better idea how to fix problems depending on what type of class I have. I think the most important part of this unit was about the first lesson. It made it clear to really take time to build rapport between my students and myself and also to develop and understanding of their needs and abilities. It was interesting to note in this unit, that a student using a native language is sometimes trying to make it easier to help out another student. Finally, in large classes, mixed level classes, or any class it is important not to teach as if every student has the same skill level. This can be achieved by giving varying time to allow other study or further practice and also by pairing or grouping different levels of students together. I am happy to complete this TEFL course, and I believe I learned a lot. Thank you.
