From this unit I have learned differences of teaching adult students of general English versus special groups such as beginners, individual students, young learners, Business English, English for Specific Purposes and monolingual or multilingual classes. All of the above mentioned groups require a special approach. For instance, beginner learners require a lot of visual aids, clear instructions, encouragement and constant revision. Individual classes give an opportunity to focus on student's specific needs, interests and language difficulties. With children lessons should be fun, varied and interesting, dynamics of the classroom should be changed frequently and teachers should be ready to make fun of themselves! For Business English and English for Specific Purposes teachers should develop a curriculum in accordance with students’ specific needs. Multilingual classes offer a great variety of experiences and ideas, whereas monolingual class students are likely to have the same language difficulties and interests.
