This unit discussed classroom management skills and different approaches to keeping a class engaged. I was surprised and glad to read that you don't have to be an extrovert to be a good teacher, because I'm definitely not loud and extroverted. It was interesting to read about the different ways that I myself have learned as a student--in pairs, in group discussions, and on my own--but from the teacher's perspective. Through this chapter I also realized how important it is to have students talk more and the teacher to talk less, and the importance of gestures and visuals.
