Teaching students how to properly use tenses is very important. As all past tenses might seem similar to students teacher must use a variety of appropriate examples in order to help students to distinguish the tenses. Apart from examples teacher must give an explanation containing the information when we will use the particular tense. Teacher who succeeds in giving good examples and clear explanation usually won't have students who have problems distinguishing tenses.
