In this unit I have learned what the receptive skills are and how to develop them during your lessons. Receptive skills include understanding when you listen and when you read. You receive the language and decode the meaning to understand the message. Reading and listening skills include a number of specialist skills such as predictive skills, deduction, ability to find specific information, ability to get the general understanding of the content. Teachers should try to keep their lessons balanced and try to incorporate both receptive and productive skills.
