It is important for the teacher to make sure the students feel comfortable in the classroom. The teacher should also make sure that the lesson is not predictable and boring. The teacher should use the ESA method (Engage, Study and Activate). The Engage stage is where the teacher gets the students involved and interested. The Study stage is where the students will focus on the language and how it is constructed. The Activate stage is where the students are encouraged to use all of the language they know. All three ESA elements need to be present in most lessons to provide a balanced range of activities for the students.
