In this chapter, I have learnt the 4 forms of past tense which are past simple, past continuous, past perfect and past perfect continuous. First is past simple. Past simple is used in different cases, for example: actions in the past where the time is given such as 'I ate rice last night'. Next is past continuous. Past continuous is used for actions that begin in the past and probably continued after, for example: 'He was sleeping at 10 yesterday.' Next is past perfect. Past perfect is used when an action had already happened in the past such as 'Before i slept, I had already finished my homework last night'. Lastly is past perfect continuous. The major use of past perfect continuous is regarding the longer actions that happened in the past up to the point of time in the past which we are thinking about. For example 'Up until graduation, he had been studying Korean all by himself'.
