This unit was about English grammar, and while as a native speaker I have no problem using correct grammar, I usually don't pay attention to the patterns or intricacies of English. For instance, I never realized that there was an order to the way people describe things in English. I can tell in a sentence that when someone says "the red, small, wooden, old bench" that it doesn't sound quite right, but until now I never realized that the order for adjectives is size, age, color, material, and noun. I find it incredibly interesting that this pattern has developed in English, and that native speakers do it without realizing it. I also think it's interesting that the "ing" forms of verbs are called Gerund. Again, I had never thought that there was a specific name for the "ing" forms and when to use them, I just automatically know how to use them and produce grammatically correct sentences.
