I found it really helpful the way this chapter broke language teaching down into vocabulary, grammar, and functions. Depending on the age group and language level your students are at, you need to focus different amounts on those different areas. For example, you're not going to teach a 5 year old in her first week of English learning about grammar; you're going to focus on simple vocab. The way this unit focused on ideas for each of the three areas, instead of English teaching as a whole, made it easier to adapt to different student levels.
