The 2 videos show how important the teacher is to the class. In both videos, we had the same teacher and the same students. In the first video, the teacher had not put in any time to prepare for the class and the students could tell. Because the teacher didn't care about the class, the students didn't either. His lack of preparation continued through the rest of the lesson as he was just following the lesson plan. He never adjusted to the needs of the students. In the second video, even though the students were already in the classroom when he arrived, the first activity was already written on the board. He was prepared and respectful right from the beginning. He made everyone feel comfortable and important by asking for everyone's name. This rapport is something that would help the class feel comfortable and more likely to participate in class.
